Professor Elie Cohen is a Research Director at France's national scientific research center (CNRS). He is also a professor of economics at Ecole des Sciences Politiques de Paris and a member of the Council of Economic Advisers at the Office of the French Prime Minister. (CAE).
Professor Cohen's specialist expertise spans industrial economics, political economy, public policy and the development of the information technology sector. He has published a number of works on state economic intervention in France, including "L'Etat Brancardier" ("The state as stretcher-bearer", Calmann Levy, 1989) and "Colbertisme High-Tech" (Hachette, 1992). He published two major books on Globalization. La tentation hexagonale (Fayard 1998) and l’Ordre Economique mondial (Fayard 2001).
As a member of the French Council of Economic Advisers, Elie Cohen wrote a number of reports on Education and Growth, Auctions and public management, Industrial policy in Europe, « Service public, Secteur public »…
Professor Cohen regularly teaches seminars at prestigious universities in France and abroad (including Ecole Nationale d'Administration, Ecole Normale Superieure, Ecole des Mines, MIT). He is also a special advisor to several parliamentary commissions, the european commission and other publics bodies. Professor Cohen is considered a prominent authority in his areas of expertise and is frequently cited by both specialist and mainstream media in France, the UK and Germany.
Knight in the National order of the Legion of Honor, Elie Cohen also received the Price Social sciences of the Académie des Sciences Morales et Politiques.
